Continuous monitoring and surveillance of infrastructure. Innovation in the service of motorway safety. Cutting-edge technologies to enhance the travel experience for users. These are the objectives of the innovative projects launched by Autostrade dello Stato S.p.A., with funding of €18.5 million for the 2025–2027 period. The plan of innovative projects developed by Autostrade dello Stato was formalized by a decree issued by the Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, Matteo Salvini, under the measures provided by the Infrastructure Decree (DL 73/2025). The projects include not only advanced monitoring and surveillance activities but also a series of technological interventions aimed at increasing safety levels along the state-managed motorway network, operated by the subsidiary companies AT-CN Autostrada Asti-Cuneo, CAV Concessioni Autostradali Venete, SITAF Società Italiana per il Traforo Autostradale del Frejus, and SITMB Società Italiana per azioni per il Traforo del Monte Bianco. The initiative foresees the adoption of intelligent systems based on drones, state-of-the-art sensors, and digital platforms enhanced with artificial intelligence for the collection and analysis of operational data.
